Ennio Morricone was my hero. Ever since I heard the soundtrack for “The Mission” and “Cinema Paradiso”, it has been my dream to be able to write music that is as passionate and stirring to the soul. When he passed away on July 6, 2020, he left a legacy of film music that will never be forgotten. Here is my small tribute to one of his greatest works, the soundtrack from “Cinema Paradiso”, performed in quarantine with my good friend Alex Cheung on violin.
This medley features three of the most beautiful cues from the film, including Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, Maturity and the beautiful Love Theme, which was actually written by Morricone’s son, Andrea.
